I noticed it was gone when I downloaded version 8 recently. This was useful because a brush could be used to make a selection, which is something that the other select tools can’t do.
Hey Midnight, I don’t know how it was done pre-v8. But I believe this is what you’re looking for:
Menu bar > Mode > Selection
Now, you can select with any painting/drawing tool there is.
Tested working on v 8.0.9.1 and 8.0.7.0

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for. It used to be in the Selection menu, but it does make more sense for it to be in the Mode menu.
