Bring color to system fonts!

Obviously system fonts can’t contain color on their own, but how about adding ability to set vertical gradient that would be used for each character to fill them and add an ability to set an outline of a specific color.

Create a gradient the height of the letters. Grab a vertical pixel column as a brush. Use line mode and create a stencil for the colour used in the font that you have pasted to the screen.

Total control of your own gradient.

Even better create a patterned vertical gradient of say 32 pixels wide (tessellating in the x axis) and a height matching the font pasted to the screen. Set your grid to 32 in the X. Use the stencil as above and this time draw the [32 x height] brush to gradient pattern the font. Even cooler!
