Display other project - option - scaling the displayed preview

I found an interesting topic and the option presented in the video seemed like an interesting option that would help me create large images.
Mechanically, the idea is that the project being displayed as a background does not have the same resolution as the project we are working on.

Here, the entire project is visible as a background

Here you can see that the project being created has a different, lower resolution.

You can see that the resolution is much lower and the projected image is large

Why am I interested in this? Currently, I create similar illustrations, but first I reduce the resolution of the projected image. Unfortunately, it often happens that the projected image loses a lot of detail. In this form, it would be a more useful option. It’s very useful for rotoscoping all kinds of images, from architectural forms to various other images and animation frames.

I think the “display other project” option could have an additional feature, such as “scale displayed project” or “fit in project window.” The question is whether this would be technically possible. To display projections with different resolutions within a single project.

I see what you mean. This is technically possible to add. Would it suffice to have nearest neighbor scaling when zooming out? Still, the other project technically would also be a 256 color image, because you can only display other projects. I also have some idea on my list to just define arbitrary files (like bmp, png, jpg) as a source and not only a PM project. This would give more freedom.

YES!!!

Yes, thats no problem  Its usable.

Great!

This would be very usefull.

Adobe solves this problem by “anchoring” the preview of the file saved to disk. This means that we link the project or file to the currently open project. The downside of this solution is that even if we have the linked project open, changes in the linked document will only be visible after the linked file is saved.

Thankyou!!!
