Whenever I pickup a Brush in freehand mode, it seems as if the brush is the same size as the whole document but with only the picked up components as content. This does not happen with rectangular pickup. There the brush size is constrained to the pickup area.
Indeed there is some weird behavior. The final brush size is much larger than the area that was actually selected. Will be fixed with next maintenance release.
Please use the option “trim” as a workaround:
