Outline layer assigned to a keystroke

I have found that often before I start to draw I create an outline. I think it would be great if we could specify a layer that is an outline then have a keystroke to turn it on and off while we are drawing.

So basically, the ability to mark a layer and when we toggle ‘layer visibility’, it’s the only layer that gets affected?

I won’t say i’ll use it often, but that is pretty handy when the occasion arises.

Yes and no cage. I was thinking it could be a regular layer but in the “edit layer properties” it could have a checkbox that says outline. And when you use the keystroke you turn it on or off.
