Thumbnail Preview Issue When Using OneDrive with Pro Motion NG

Hi,

I’m using the thumbnail preview option in Pro Motion NG to better manage and organize my projects:

After losing some of my files, I decided to subscribe to OneDrive so all my art projects could be stored in one place. This setup is working great with Pro Motion NG, but there’s one issue: the thumbnails are not being stored. As a result, I can’t see them in the file explorer, which slightly disrupts my workflow.

I’m not sure if this is more of a OneDrive limitation than a Pro Motion NG bug, but I still wanted to report it just in case it can be improved or worked around.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @toto,

indeed, it does not show the thumbnail when stored in OneDrive folders. Actually, the thumbnail-display is more like a hack. Windows auto detects file contents for thumbnail preview and it’s possible to create files that contain Windows bitmap image data at the very beginning and the rest of the file contains the actual file data. In that case, Windows finds the bitmap data and creates a thumbail, ignoring the rest of the file.
With OneDrive folders it does not seem to work. As soon as there is more data after the bitmap data, it stops displaying the thumbnail for it.
